Hands-on tested
Timothy or a named reviewer has personally used the product in a relevant hair and routine context. We explain that context and do not use this label without supporting first-hand experience.
Editorial methodology
Product guides should make the evidence behind a recommendation easy to see. We separate first-hand testing, editorial research and named third-party experience instead of blending them into one vague claim.
A product can only carry one of these labels when the visible guide supports it. If evidence is incomplete, we leave the recommendation unpublished rather than filling the gap with assumptions.

The recommendation is based on reliable product information, routine fit, known limitations, source review and comparison criteria. It is not a claim that we personally tested the product.
A clearly identified reader or relevant expert supplied the experience. We state whose recommendation it is and verify the underlying product information before publication.
The exact criteria change by category. A diffuser needs compatibility, airflow and handling checks; a styling product needs fit by routine role, hair weight, hold and likely trade-offs. We also check whether product information is current and avoid publishing prices or stock claims we cannot keep verified.
